Volunteers at Newton Medical Center are a valuable part of our excellent health care team. They give generously of their time and talents to provide assistance to patients, visitors and staff. They are regularly rewarded with sincere thanks for their generous acts of kindness.
Over 300 men, women, and young adults support Newton Medical Center through their volunteer efforts each year. Service hours exceed 35,000 annually as a result of time given in 25 areas in the hospital, community programs, and fundraising. Senior volunteers, college students and high school students make up the volunteer base. If you are interested in volunteering, READ ON! Teen Volunteers are high school students ages 15 to 18 who apply and are accepted into a one, two, or three week summer session. Applications with dates of sessions and instructions are available online and at the hospital front lobby information desk in January each year. These applications are accepted at the Volunteer Office located at 4152 Mill Street in The Gainer Center by April 7 each year.
