EMS Receives Wal-Mart Grant
 
 
Covington Wal-Mart is supporting Emergency Medical Services at Newton Medical Center with a check for $1000 from the Wal-Mart Foundation.

Wal-Mart manager Nan Leperski presented the check to Queen and two of his crew, Kenneth Goss, EMT and Andrew Strickland, Paramedic.

EMS Captain Scott Queen applied for a grant requesting funds to help in the purchase of automated cardiac resuscitation devices. gWe can certainly use this money,h says Queen, gwe want the latest generation equipment on our ambulances.h The new devices can help restore the heartbeat of victims of sudden cardiac arrest.
Through financial contributions, in-kind donations and volunteerism, the Wal-Mart Foundation supports community initiatives focused on enhancing opportunities in four main focus areas: Education, Workforce Development/ Economic Opportunity, Environmental Sustainability, and Health/Wellness.
